Here are a couple of two shots, the top one from our preliminary task and the bottom one from our final film. We progressed between the two by using camera angles to reflect the mood of a shot. We also learnt to control lighting for a much more sophisticated and professional finish.
We decided having looked at our preliminary piece that it would be better to have a closer switch in on the match on action as it makes it more dramatic and flowing, giving the piece a more professional feel. We also were very care with the lighting the second time around, since in our preliminary task the shots often felt washed out due to the brightness of the light. However it took us several attempts to get it right when we came to filming our final piece because it kept coming out too dark.

Both of these contain a lot of unavoidable natural lighting, however from the preliminary task we learnt to use it to our advantage. Because of that in our final film we use this natural lighting to create a dreamlike feel for this flashback shot. We also felt that in the preliminary task this shot looked too staged in the way Alex and Taryn were positioned so in our final film we had the characters interacting with the setting and props to make it seem more natural and spontaneous.
Here are two shot reverse shots, we learnt about the 180 degree rule just before our preliminary task and it was a valuable opportunity for us to practise it. Having had the opportunity to use in advance we were able to stick to it whilst filming our final film. We also decided to be braver with how we had our characters fit into the frame since we felt that keeping them centred all the time was quite dull visually which is why in the shot from our final film Dylan is at the edge of the shot.
