The studio was founded in 1918 with the name Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Film Sales by brothers Jack and Harry Cohn and Joe Brandt. It released it's first feature film in August 1922 and changed it's name to Columbia Pictures in 1924 before going public two years later.

Warner Bros. was founded in 1923 and is based in Burbank, California and New York. It's founders were Albert, Harry, Sam and Jack Warner and currently produces motion pictures, television shows and video games. The studio's first film was My Four Years In Germany which came out on 4th April 1923. Warner Bros. also own the rights to DC Entertainments.

Walt Disney Pictures were founded in 1950 By Walt and Roy Disney although the original name (circa 1923) was Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio. They Are most well known for their animations however they also own Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios. Disney's first film was Snow White And The Seven Dwarves which was released December 21st 1937.

Universal
Universal were founded in 1912 as the Universal Film And Manufacturing Company. It's founders were Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, and Jules Brulatour, and it is the oldest film studio in the United States. Universal's first film was Making A Living which was released in 1914.

20th Century Fox:
20 the Century Fox was founded by Darryl F. Zanuck and Joseph M. Schenck on 31st May 1935 as a merger between the two pre-existing companies 20th Century Pictures and Fox Film Corporation . It is based in Los Angeles and produces not just motion pictures but also many successful TV shows such as Glee, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and How I Met Your Mother. This studio was responsible for starting the career of Marilyn Monroe and also contracted the first African-American cinema star, Dorothy Dandridge. Their first film pre-merger was Randy Rangoon's Wonderful Horse but their first film post merger was Charlie Chan In Paris.

Paramount Pictures was founded in 1912 as Famous Players Film Company and changed it's name to Paramount Pictures in 1916. It currently owns Nickelodeon Movies and from 2008- 2011 owned the Marvel Cinematic Universe.It is the 5th oldest surviving studio in the world and the only one to have Hollywood as it's headquarters.It's first film was Les Amours De La Reine Elisabeth which was released in 1912.
